The September Issue

Lauren Jamieson

I thought I'd catch you all up in a blog rather than a mass statement/post on social media... lots and lots happening over at The Colourful Edit.

Continually, a massive thank you to you all for supporting the brand and embracing COLOUR! My lovely stockists are kept busy and my online shop is keeping me very busy through the week. I think since adding in PayPal as a payment option, it all seems a little easier. Lately I've been posting to London, Glasgow, New York and Ireland. And Duns. (Thank you Duns xx). I wondered what;  a) you thought of my online shop, and b) whether you would like to see anything added in, or the path to purchasing a little clearer.  I'm always up for constructive feedback - so feedback away!

STOCKIST. I have a new Melrose Stockist announcement to make... I will now be stocking my wares in 'Love Scottish Candles', owned by Lesley Landels. I met Lesley a few years back and she has been a keen supporter of my brand and is looking forward to adding in some colour to her already lovely store. We are both crazy mums who have started something a little different amidst the chaos of parenting, so lots of support and mutual respect happening here :) I would like to thank the lovely Tania at Bank House Living for having me for the last year and a half, so lovely and supportive - I wish the girls all the best with their new direction.

POP UP SHOP. My Autumn/Winter pop up shop is this weekend - Saturday.  The pop up shops are really the best way of introducing yourself into dressing your neckline, with advice on styles and colour and of course special discounted prices. They are normally fun and you will normally walk out with more than you came in for! This Saturday we will have chunkier styles for Autumn as well as the old classics. See them before they hit the stockists... You can also chat to me about bespoke orders - and we can design one especially for you. The details of this event are; SATURDAY 10-4pm. 1 Tower Street, Selkirk.

CHRISTMAS! There, I said it.

Well - SAVE THE DATE - Saturday November 24th for something very exciting!! I'm hosting a little something, something featuring some very talented people - that will prove to be epic! Ha!
Thats all I am saying at present! I will be announcing very soon... so watch this space! xxx

ALSO CHRISTMAS... I will be taking The Colourful Edit down to Harrogate for the Country Living Magazine Christmas Fair. It's a four day event of selling to the public (29th November - 2nd December). Which means making and shaking until then! I have about 30 tickets to give away, so If anyone from the Scottish Borders (or beyond) is intending on visiting and would like some, please let me know. I'll also be popping them on my page in the next few days!

In other news... phew (no wonder I'm slightly losing the plot), I've been so blessed and busy with my Styling, Branding and Photography. I have now styled over 60+ people since starting back in the Borders, worked on creating a handful of local upcoming Brands and shot four Weddings to date... next one is at the end of this month. It's all go go go!

GROWTH. I was very excited yesterday to hear I've also been accepted into the AllBright Academy. I applied as I am really focussed on growing the business, but also getting the right advice from experts in the field. I'm absolutely delighted to be involved. Here is a little background on what I'll be up to;

AllBright is the network for working women in the UK.

Founded in 2016 by Debbie Wosskow OBE (Founder of LoveHomeSwap) and Anna Jones (Former CEO of Hearst), AllBright supports women at all stages of their careers, with a particular focus on skills, start-ups, and space.

The AllBright Academy leverages an immersive, digital, cohort-driven curriculum, an outstanding faculty of experts, and diverse and flexible course offerings to help female founders and aspiring founders build and grow their businesses. The AllBright Fund promotes the most-promising and innovative female entrepreneurs in Britain, connecting them with a community of angels and investors. And The AllBright, the UK's first of-its-kind members' club for working women, opened in March 2018 -- providing a unique environment for women to connect, create, and collaborate.

Together, these pillars create a broad and inclusive ecosystem that enables women to thrive.

Underpinned by a robust, year-long programme of high-profile events, and an engaged and active community, AllBright is making the UK the best place in the world to be a working woman.

Pretty cool hey!

LOVES. The kids are all well and delicious. Mac started School. I'm still not over it. Nell is performing roly polys EVERYWHERE. Quinn doesn't listen to a damn word ha ha (phase hopefully), she's a wee cracker.  Hubby is great. We are going on a wee family holiday this month to RELAX, then we'll all be right back into it. I've also been following a detox programme (after I was sick of feeling crap with that silly post viral fatigue syndrome thing), anyway, it has actually changed my life - it's called Fit Healthy Happy Mum and is run by this gorgeously crazy Aussie lady Sharni and her hubby Julius. I'm at week 7 and have had no sugar, dairy or wheat for the duration. I feel like a new woman! I'm totally obsessed with coconuts however. Coconuts and almonds.

Always in muck!

But still very cute X

So yes... I think that is all for now.

Have a super week and hope to see you at the pop up xoxo
