This Sunday, I’ll be swapping my usual ‘mum hat’ for something a wee bit more glamorous, as I head off to a day at Kelso Races!

I’m delighted to be working with Jonathan and Sherri, and all the friendly team at Kelso, again, hosting the Colourful Edit Catwalk, where we’ll be on the lookout for our very own Queen of Style and let me tell you, the crown comes with a cracker of a prize.

Our winning Queen will walk away with £1200 worth of gift vouchers, thanks to some incredible women-led businesses, all absolute gems in their own right. I’m endlessly grateful for their generosity, and truly, they’re all Queens to me.

Here’s a look at the wonderful businesses making it all possible:

HAY Wellbeing
At HAY, it all starts with a heartfelt How Are You? This phrase lies at the core of everything they do. HAY is creating a warm, welcoming space where mental health and wellbeing are a priority - no stigma, just genuine support. A beautiful initiative born from a shared need to care more deeply and kindly for each other, Caroline and Gillian are simply wonderful. Gillian will be on the Mic on the catwalk too (Did I ever tell you she used to tour Europe with her band?)

Based in Jedburgh, Thirty Five is the vision of the ever-lovely Melissa, who opened her boutique in 2022 to offer a truly personal shopping experience. With beautiful ladieswear, accessories, and thoughtful gifts, the boutique is a welcoming space where fashion meets comfort and style. Whether you’re after a new dress or a scented candle, Melissa’s got you covered – with a smile and a chat, of course.

Kitty & Gus
The endlessly creative Rachel is the powerhouse behind Kitty & Gus. With a passion for interiors, fabrics, fashion, and all things beautifully made, she juggles her shop, studio, website, and events – all while making curtains that dreams are made of! Her shop is a love letter to style, creativity, and good old-fashioned hard work.

As well as the Queen of Style, we’ll be on the lookout for the Dapper Chap with the exceptional Rachel from Humes, who’s offering the winner a bespoke Hume’s suit, and the best-dressed couple who will be put up for a delicious stay at the Schloss Roxburghe. We also have the talented Kayleigh Rose on the Decks in the Marquee. So get on your dancing shoes gals! Legendary!
