Find Your Colours. Find Your Confidence.
What do you really gain from seeing a colour stylist?
Ever opened a wardrobe full of clothes and thought, I have absolutely nothing to wear? Or picked up a gorgeous top in a shop, only to get it home and wonder why it never quite feels right?
I hear you. Getting dressed can become a lot of guesswork, especially when life, your body or your hair has changed and the colours you used to reach for no longer feel like you. That’s where a stylist who specialises in colour can help.
I start with you…
Colour analysis is a chance to slow down and see what happens when different shades sit next to your face. We look at the colours that bring out your eyes and work beautifully with your natural colouring. But I also want to know what you love wearing, what you avoid, and how you want to feel when you walk into a room.
Perhaps you’ve been told you “can’t wear” a colour you adore. Perhaps black is your comfort blanket, or perhaps it’s genuinely part of your signature style. We’ll work with your personality, rather than hand you a set of rules and send you on your way. Usually, a shade, a combination, or a little styling twist makes the colour feel like yours.
What do you walk away with?
From a Colour Analysis session, you’ll know your seasonal palette, your standout “wow” colours and the neutrals that give your wardrobe a useful foundation. You’ll learn how to combine shades, choose colours near your face and make more confident decisions about makeup and hair. You’ll have a photo of yourself in your best colours, a mini colour wheel and a digital swatch to refer to at home or when you shop. If you love something you can tuck in your bag, there’s also the option of a physical swatch.
That knowledge travels with you. It helps when you’re choosing an outfit for a big occasion, deciding whether a new purchase will work with what you own, or trying a scarf, necklace or lip colour that gives an old favourite a fresh lease of life.
If we work together on Colour, Shape & Style or a Wardrobe Edit, we can go further. We’ll look at fit, proportions and your everyday life, put together outfits from the pieces already hanging in your wardrobe, and identify any genuine gaps. You leave with ideas you can use on an ordinary Tuesday as well as at a wedding or a party. And no, the answer isn’t to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe!
Why does that feel so empowering?
Because you begin to understand why something works for you. The next time you’re faced with a rail of clothes, you can make your own call. You can spot a shade that lights you up, pass on a tempting bargain that won’t earn its place, and put together an outfit that feels like your personality rather than somebody else’s idea of style.
There’s freedom in that. Less second-guessing, less money spent on pieces that sit unworn, and more joy in the clothes you already have. Colour becomes a tool for expressing yourself, whether your version of colourful is a bold cobalt coat or a beautiful neutral with just a pop of pink.
My favourite moment is when someone looks in the mirror, and you can see that little spark: Oh, there I am. That’s the real magic for me. The palette is useful, of course, but the confidence to show up as yourself is what stays with you.
If you’re ready to find your colours and make getting dressed feel fun again, come and see me at The Colourful Edit. We’ll start with you, add a splash of colour, and see where it takes us.
Love, Lauren xx
