How to ‘fall’ into the trends…
So friends, it’s SEPTEMBER 2026!
How on earth did that happen?
I’ve been busy with clients, and most of these sessions have led to conversations about how to get it right with trends. Whilst I’ve been shopping, I’ve been chatting so much about the importance of getting your colours nailed before you even consider the shape for your own body and, of course, your own personal style.
And honestly, colour can make ALL the difference.
It can make you feel more like YOU. It can help you feel healthier and more vibrant in your palette and, honestly, radiate amongst your friendship group.
Especially as we mature.
It got me thinking about the new season, which I always do, and I wanted to put together a little guide for you if you’re feeling a bit stuck and wondering where on earth to start with all the latest trends.
So, where do you start?
1. Pick your palette
First things first, know your colours.
When you understand the colours that really work for you, shopping becomes so much easier. You can start to see what lifts you, what makes you glow and what perhaps leaves you looking a little washed out.
2. Think about your body shape
Once you have your colours sorted, think about the shapes and silhouettes that work for your own body.
It’s not about following rules or trying to change yourself. It’s about understanding what makes you feel comfortable, confident and fabulous.
3. Show me your personality
This is the bit I LOVE.
Your clothes should say something about you.
Your personality, your energy, your creativity, your lifestyle. Don’t lose yourself in the trends. Use your wardrobe to show the world who you are.
4. Then add in a few key pieces from the season
And finally, have some fun with the new season!
You’ll often find that you absolutely detest or absolutely love what is coming through. That’s completely fine.
One season you might go all out and embrace everything.
The next, you might simply add a few colour pops or one or two key pieces.
There are no rules saying you have to reinvent your entire wardrobe every season.
In fact, please don’t!
It’s worth remembering that what goes around comes around.
Not only do fashions repeat, but the originals are getting fewer and farther away. So before you rush out to buy something new, check your own wardrobe first!
You might just find some hidden gems lurking in there.
And actually, this methodology applies to creatives too.
What goes around comes around.
So if you find my posts useful, I’d absolutely love you to share them with a friend.
And if you’re ready to get your own journey started, you can always book in a colour session with me.
Have a beautiful start to September, friends.
